No less than spectacular, the artistic practice of the Argentinian-born artist Leandro Erlich has been noticed early on in his career. Representing his country in the 49th Venice Biennale in 2001, his work has been increasingly sought after ever since, and he's been building upon his uncanny practice.

The installation is devised so that when you look into the mirror on the wall, it appears as if the room is reflected in the mirror, but in fact, there is an identical room that has been created symmetrically behind the mirror. Leandro Erlich (Buenos Aires, 1973) is the author of a work that uses the everyday to generate immersive experiences that alter the perception of reality, and is currently one of the Argentine visual artists with greatest international projection. 2020-09-16 Leandro Erlich’s retrospective at the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo navigates the impersonal aesthetics of globalization and consumerism, driven by the human compulsion to see and be seen.
